Sunday School
Comprised of several classes, children's Sunday School begins at 10:00 and lasts 45 minutes. After a joint session of singing, the children are separated into classes according to age. Lessons and activities introduce new topics and reinforce what they already have learned.
Junior Church
Each Sunday morning during the Worship Service, our children have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of Junior Church. The children participate in Bible lessons, learn fun songs, create crafts and/or watch a video, and have a snack each week. Led by Vicki Bowman, Junior Church not only allows the children to enjoy their own church service, but gives parents an opportunity to concentrate on worshiping and learning more about God during their morning service. Vicki is assisted during Junior Church by several ladies in the church.
Nursery
For parents with small children, a nursery is available downstairs. The nursery has a speaker so the pastor's message can be heard.
Sunday Nights
Our children also have an opportunity to attend Junior Church on Sunday nights. Deena Rice leads the children through Bible stories, crafts and gives them a snack while parents concentrate on the worship service upstairs.
Special Events
Focus on Kids Sunday
On the third Sunday morning of each month (or another Sunday if a scheduling conflict arises), Pastor Rinker focuses his sermon on teaching the children. Often, these Sundays feature our children singing special songs they have learned in Junior Church. Following the singing, the children are encouraged to share praises and prayer concerns with the Pastor. The sermon is geared for the children and they are very encouraged to participate.
Programs
Twice a year (Easter and Christmas), the children present programs for the church congregation. These programs combine speaking parts and songs that tell the stories of Jesus spread the gospel.
Vacation Bible School
In June, MTHC hosts Vacation Bible School. This special week of fun for the children consists of singing, drama, learning stories and scripture, giving to missions, creating neat crafts and playing a variety of games. Our VBS culminates with a program and cookout on Sunday night.
